Soccer close to getting back to business

The governor of Oregon, Kate Brown, gave the go-ahead for high school athletes to get back on the field, at least for soccer and cross country, beginning Feb. 22. It's finally something of a victory for athletes looking for an outlet to their energy that has been sidelined for nearly a year, beginning March 12, 2020. Football teams can practice non-contact drills, but volleyball has yet to be decided on, and football games have yet to be decided on based on references to Covid-19 contamination figures the state uses to determine how much athletes should be allowed to make contact with spread of the virus as a key figure.

Is it really time for high school athletics again?
The Class of 2013 is headed for gyms and fields across the state and onto the pages of oregonsports.com.  Game stories, features, photos, video and a blog devoted to every sport and every classification in many cases.
It's all part of the oregonsports.com commitment to promote Oregon athletics across the state and the online world.
Now that you've found this site, keep it in mind when you think Class 5A boys soccer. Woodburn, Wilson, Churchill, Hood River Valley.
And, don't just show up and read - put some words up, too. And tell a friend. If you're the leadership type, send an e-mail over to info@oregonsports.com, and we'll tell you how to be a blog administrator so you can help promote the game to the world.
